“If”

“You know how it’s been said that the eyes are the windows to your soul? Well, there’s something about the figure aspect of paintings that will speak to someone&#8221;, Hicks explains. Hicks begins each composition with the question “Tell me where to go?” This query invites the viewer into dialogue with the painting as he seeks a deep emotional experience that isn’t superficial. Each work nudges a viewer, causing an individual response that resonates with humanity and moves them far beyond his studio or the gallery.
