For over eighty years, the talented sculptors from Zimbabwe have created their own“love story”with their native stone. As a sculpture movement, they are considered in the upper echelon of African art. Six of the most highly collected of these current artists will showcase their latest works at Bonner David, a destination for Shona sculpture for over twenty years. These second and third generation artists are propelling this native movement using a wider variety of stone and more advanced, intricate sculpting techniques.
